The Middle East and Islamic Studies Program would like to extend an invitation to all prospective students to attend an Information Session for the MA program in Middle East and Islamic Studies at George Mason University.

The MA in Middle East and Islamic Studies distinguishes itself from other programs with its globalized perspectives and interdisciplinary approach to studying the major debates in Islam, the Middle East, and Muslim societies. With the continuing, diverted, and stalling uprisings in Arab countries, the transformation of social and political dynamics from North Africa to the Arab East, and our distinguished faculty’s work in new media and political economy, this program represents “a new M.A. for a new Middle East.” Students will have the chance to study the region from multiple angles and explore emerging trends that shape current discourses in Middle East Studies. Graduates of the program prepare themselves for a variety of career paths including academia, government, and non-governmental organizations where an increasing need for Middle East and Islam-related expertise is in demand. For undergraduate Mason students, there is an attractive accelerated masters option.

Join us on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Johnson Center Meeting Room C, and meet with our Program Director, Bassam Haddad, and Program Coordinator, Melissa Bejjani, to learn more about this program and the admissions requirements and process.

For driving directions, please click here. Visitor parking is available at the Mason Pond parking deck.

Kindly RSVP above if you're able to attend no later than January 16, 2015.
