Zein has a Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of Maryland and teaches Global Literature and Social Change at the University of Maryland.  Zein leads annual literary study abroad trips to Egypt and Ireland.  He is also one of the founding members of the award-winning trade magazine Left Turn, published in New York.  He is a published poet and writer and was one of the translators for the Sundance Film Festival-nominated documentary Sling Shot Hip Hop.
