The Great Muslim American Road Trip

"The American story is the Muslim story" states one of the historians interviewed in The Great Muslim American Road Trip, a travelogue series produced by Unity Productions Foundation. In the film, a Muslim couple travels historic Route 66, Chicago to LA, as they discover stories of Muslims contributing to American culture and life.

Meeting a unique cast of characters, the couple learns why refugees are welcome in St. Louis, the unlikely story of jazz musicians in Tulsa, an iconic American landmark in Chicago, a Muslim explorer from the 1400s in New Mexico, a tech entrepreneur from the 2020’s in LA, a prisoner reentry program in Vegas, a lawyer turned date farmer in Mecca, and so much more.

UPF is a non-profit film producer that has made over a dozen award-winning films that tell stories of Muslim culture and contribution. Titles include The Sultan and the Saint, a Story of Muslim - Christian Peacemaking, Lamyas Poem, where a refugee girl meets Rumi as they search for a place of hope, and their new film currently in production called Islam’s Greatest Love Stories.
