Dr. Asma Afsaruddin will be presenting.
Dr. Asma Afsaruddin is a professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at Indiana University, Bloomington. She has written on both classical and contemporary Islamic political and religious thought, Muslim attitudes towards People of the Book and gender roles in Islam. Her latest book is titled The First Muslims: History and Memory published in 2008 by Oneworld Publications.
