Award Competition for Research in Islamic Studies

Award Competition for Research in Islamic Studies

Merit based awards in Islamic Studies are available to scholars and graduate students who are currently engaged with the portfolio of projects and programs at the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies and its online publication, Maydan. Selected awardees will receive prizes ranging from $100 minimum to $500 maximum. Prizes will be awarded to individuals whose research in Islamic Studies shows exceptional promise and which bridge the divide between academic and non-specialist knowledge. Research statements that speak to Islam as a global religion and target greater literacy on Islam and Muslim communities' relationship with arts, literature, philanthropy and educations are especially encouraged.

Applications will be reviewed by Center faculty and are considered on a rolling basis.

To apply, submit the following to the Center's Assistant Director, Ann Birkelbach at abirkelb@gmu.edu.
