Professor Abdulaziz Sachedina discusses his dialogical conversations with Iraqi religious leaders during his visit to Iraq in spring 2014.

Professor Abdulaziz Sachedina is the Chair in Islamic Studies at George Mason University, endowed by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). His distinguished career spans more than two decades of research in the fields of Islamic law, ethics, and theology. In the past 10 years, his research has concentrated on social and political ethics, including interfaith and intrafaith relations, Islamic biomedical ethics, and human rights in Islam. He is routinely cited as being one of the most influential Muslim thinkers alive today, and is the author of, among many other titles, Islam and the Challenge of Human Rights, and The Islamic Roots of Democratic Pluralism.
